Description

This perky blue-bodied odonate has green eyes and a white face. The thorax is striped black and yellow and the wings frequently have a smoky wash to them. The female has a series of yellow dashes on the top of the abdomen. This dragonfly is often seen in the obelisk position. It is common throughout the state in marshes and around ponds and small lakes.
