Description

Uncommon but expected statewide around small streams, seeps, and other wetlands. The insects collected in Iowa have been intermediate between the eastern A. saucium and the western A. abbreviatum. More work is necessary to determine if ours are intergrades or perhaps a different species.

Although some species show a bit of variation in size, the following graphic will give you a general feeling for the normal size of this species.
